Zargar inspects CAD Directorate Jammu, orders action against absentees

Jammu, Dec 4
Minister for Agriculture, Cooperatives and Fisheries Mr. Abdul Aziz Zargar today paid a surprise visit to the Directorate Office of Command Area Development (CAD) Jammu.
Mr. Zargar while inspecting various sections of the Directorate office including soil and water Management, Planning and Statistics and Accounts found 14 officers and officials absent from duty.
The Minister issued directions to the Director CAD Jammu, Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Shah who was on official tour for initiating immediate action against the absentees. He also asked him to suspend the absentee officials and seek explanations from them and submit the report to the Minister within a week’s time.
The absentees included District level Subject Matter Specialists Mr. K.K. Sharma, Assistant Director Planning & Statistics, Mr. B.D. Sharma, Assistant Accounts Officer Mrs Rajni Chakoo, Head Draftsman Mr. R.K. Mansotra, Assistant Project Officers Mr. Bariender Kumar and S. Gurjeet Singh, Accountant Mrs Sushma, Stenographers Mr. Kuldeep Mrs Sunita Devi, Senior Assistants Mr. Yash Paul and Ram Paul, Junior Assistants Mr. Krishan Lal and Mr. Surinder Kumar.
Mr. Zargar said that absenteeism cannot be tolerated at any level in the offices adding that the present government is according top priority to the healthy work-culture in the dispensation of justice to the people for which punctuality and regularity is of vital importance. He said that absenteeism is a facet of corruption as it amounts to dishonesty, negligence and irresponsibility. He said that the drive against those officers and officials would continue in all departments under his command who willfully and unauthorizedly remain absent from the duty and subject the public and the needy to suffer for their petty official works.
The Minister issued strict instructions to the heads of various sections of CAD, Jammu to maintain discipline and punctuality in their offices and see that no employee violates the official decorum. Mr. Zargar while interacting with the staff sought details about the various ongoing projects under Command Area Development programme in Jammu and asked for the submission of the achievements in his office within a week’s time. He asked them to aware the farmers and orchardists about the ongoing schemes under CAD and for making the demonstration of the achievements in far-flung and rural areas.
