2 women buried, another crushed to death in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sep 8 : Two women were buried alive when a mound of mud caved in and another was crushed to death by a speeding school bus in two separate incidents in this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
‘’Two women were buried alive last evening after a mound of mud caved-in in village Tagger in Bani area of Kathua district,’’ police sources said here today.
They said Lalita Devi and Kaushlaya Devi were collecting mud when suddenly a mound caved resulting in their death.
"Meanwhile, when the women did not return, the family members started searching for them. Later, their bodies were found under debris," police added.
In a separate incident a woman, was crushed to death by a speeding school bus, while her husband and child had a miraculous escape.
‘’A woman identified as Gurpreet Kour died on the spot and her husband Rupinder Singh, both residents of Gurdaspur and their child were seriously injured when the motorbike, they were riding on, was hit by a school bus on flyover yesterday,’’ police added.
Police however, rushed to the spot and shifted the deceased and the injured to the hospital.
‘’The bus has been seized and the driver Ram Krishan was arrested on the spot,’’ police added.
