Kashmira Vahini take stock of preparations for Vitasta Triyodeshi

Jammu, Sep 8: The executive committee of Kashmira Vahini took stock of the preparations for the forth coming Vitasta Triyodeshi to be celebrated on 10th September 2011 at Jammu in Rajender Park on the banks of Chanderbagha.
The programme coordinator of these celebrations Sudesha Koul informed the members about the huge response among the Kashmiri Pandit community in particular among the women across the length and breadth of Jammu which has been generated by Vahini activists in last few weeks by their contact drive.
Artists of various fields will participate in these celebrations besides artists from outside the state have confirmed their participation in this event.
Meena Kak an eminent educationist who bagged this year’s presidents award will be felicitated on this occasion.
Khema Koul spokesperson of Kashmira Vahani emphasized upon the importance of Vitasta Triyodeshi birth day of river goddess Vitasta and its major contribution in cultural renaissance of Kashmiri Pandit civilization.
Participation of Kashmiri Pandit saints, artists, intellectuals, poets and Kashmiri Pandit children will be special feature of these celebrations.
Sushma Reshi informed the members that Vitasta Triyodeshi is being celebrated across the country namely Pune, Nagpur, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Hyderabad by Vahini units there.
The celebrations include puja of Vitasta, cultural programme, immersion of diyas and followed by prasad vitran.
Kashmira Vahani appeals Kashmiri Pandits in exile all over the globe to celebrate the festival on the banks of rivers at their places and take pledge that in coming years we and our progeny will celebrate the Vitasta Triyodeshi on the banks of Vitasta in Kashmir our homeland.
