Crossed Swords Division to conduct educational, motivational tour | | | EARLY IMES REPORT Jammu, Sep 8: An educational/ motivational tour under Operation Sadbhavana to South India is being organised for 30 youth from remote border areas of Sunderbani by The Kalidhar Brigade under the aegis of Crossed Swords Division. The aim of the tour is to make the youth of the border areas aware of the rich heritage and cultural grandeur of the country and to make them understand the secular nature of the nation. Rita Sharma, the principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Bajabain, on the occasion of flagging off ceremony, said, “ This educational tour for the youth from our border areas will surely enlighten the present generation on the growth and development in various other parts of the country and make them aware of the opportunities that await them tomorrow”. The tour was flagged off on 08 Sep 2011 by Brigadier SN Rai, the Officiating General Officer Commanding of Crossed Sword Division from Akhnoor in an impressive ceremony organised by The Kalidhar Brigade. During his interaction with the youth, Brigadier SN Rai impressed upon the important role that the youth of today have to play towards nation building. Rajesh Kumar, a college student who is part of the tour expressed his happiness over the fact that this visit has offered on opportunity to visit various far away places in South India and hoped that the tour would make him aware of the diversity of the country. The tour will be for a duration of two weeks and will return to Akhnoor on 21 Sep 2011. During the tour, the students will visit places of tourist interest at Hyderabad, Chennai, Pondicherry, Trivandrum and Kanyakumari. The students will also witness the prestigious passing out parade at the Officer Training Academy in Chennai on 15 Sep 2011.
