Jagti residents seeks better facilities, ask leaders not to make needless statements | | | Early Times Report JAGTI, Sept 8: It has been observed that some elements are bent upon to create an environment by spreading wrong message that something fishy has happened in the process of allotment or construction of flats by using substandard material at Jagti. Every tom dick and harry has started speaking about Jagti township in order to project himself as a leader of this township not because of having sympathies with the residents of Jagti but for projecting himself as a leader of the Jagti for publicity. These elements are planning to have plat form at Jagti where more than 10000 people have started living. The migrants living at Jagti have shifted from the old camps where there were no arrangement of proper sanitation and were living in very unhygienic conditions. These leaders have never projected any problems of camp dwellers for last more than a decade hut now suddenly they have developed love for the residents of Jagti not for .sharing the sufferings of such families but for project themselves leaders of the community. The majority of the migrants who have shifted to Jagti are feeling comfortable and are not facing any major problems. However, some quarters have some minor problems which are being addressed. The residents appeal to the Government to address the following problems without further delay. 1. Power curtailment of fourteen hours needs to be reduced without delay failing which the residents may have to resort to other means. 2. Drainage problem due to high water table particularly during the rainy seasons need to be addressed on day-to-day basis and a proper policy needs to be worked out for long term so that such problems does not reoccur in the ,next monsoon. 3. Government made the commitment to remove other minor operational problems in the blocks within next two months as promised by them. In this regard, Chief Minister during his visit in first week of April had assured that migrants shall be settled down smoothly within five months after shifting and we hope that this dead line is met. 4. The issue of transport facility needs to be addressed again and also construction of four passenger sheds should be constructed on the main road so that the passengers feel comfortable and the matador services operate from these sheds. 5. Construction of Cremation Ground. Government is requested to start construction of the Cremation ground. Otherwise the people are facing problems when any death takes place. 6. Complete the remaining flats and other works at Jagti within next two months. 7. Government is requested for passing the Shrine bill during the coming session of assembly. 8. Enhance the cash relief from Rs.5000 to 12000. 9. One time compensation of Rs 25 lack for over aged migrant youth. Above all we request the Government to construct another 150 to 200 shops immediately so that migrants who were running shops in the old cams are provided shops for earning their livelihood
