JAMMU, Sept 08: Trikuta Degree College shall take on GGM Science College in the final to defend men’s title in the ongoing inter-college badminton tournament, organised by Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Trikuta College defeated Government Degree College Kathua 3-0 while GGM Science College trounced last year’s runners-up, PG Departments again 3-0.
The Results: Trikuta College bt Kathua College 3-0: Singles: Vasu Bhagat bt Amit Jasrotia 21-10, 21-12; Shiva Manhas bt Dhananjay Jamwal 21-09, 21-15. Doubles: Naresh and Vasu bt Amit and Dhananjay 21-09, 21-15. GGM Science College bt PG Departments 3-0: Singles: Maninder Singh bt Amit 21-14, 21-17; Aman bt Chander Dev 21-10, 21-09. Doubles: Aman and Maninder bt Amit and Chander 21-12, 21-06.
GCW Parade meets GCW Udhampur in final
Meanwhile, Government College for Women (GCW) Parade shall face GCW Udhampur in the title clash tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinals, GCW Udhampur outplayed Government Degree College Kathua 2-0 and later, GCW Parade trounced GCW Gandhi Nagar 2-0.
The Results: Semifinals: GCW Udhampur bt GDC Kathua 2-0: Shriya bt Pinky 21-02, 21-06; Chahat bt Bandana 21-07, 21-08. GCW Parade bt GCW Gandhi Nagar 2-0: Prabhjyot bt Dhanvir Kour 21-07, 21-10; Akanksha bt Komal 21-06, 21-10.
Today’s matches were officiated by Vikram Jamwal, Ravish Vaid, Amit, Rakesh, Sahario Bano, Sumit and Arun under the supervision of Romesh Magotra.
