PDP condemns use of ‘force’ on employees | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Sept 8 (KNS): Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned ‘brutal use of force’ on the government employees, who have been agitating for their long pending demands. In a statement, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti regretted that instead of adopting holistic approach to solve problems of the people, the present regime headed by National Conference always adopted oppressive means to suppress voice of the common masses. “Using strong arm method has becoming a policy decision of this regime,” she observed and pointed out that today’s incident in which ‘brutal force’ was used on agitating government employees was another example of the repressive policy of the present dispensation. Supporting demands of employees, Mehbooba asked the government to shun the approach of taking confrontation and take some initiatives to address grievances of the agitating employees. The PDP president said government employees have been agitating for the last two years but no step has been taken by the government to address the demands raised by the employees. She said that government should accept ‘genuine’ demands of the employees and start consultations on the contentious issues to bring consensus
