Carmel Convent school celebrated ‘Girl Child day’ | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, September 8: In this modern society the future lies in the hands of girls and women in India. Carmel Convent School, Kunjwani celebrated September 8 as the Girl Child Day with great joy, pride and enthusiasm. After a short prayer service in the school campus nearly 700 girls marched through the school campus and on the roads of Kunjwani - By Pass. The rally was flagged off by Fr. T. Kuriakose and Principal Prescilla Lobo. Shouting slogans to save the Girl Child, the girls marched out of the school campus and on the way were joined by J.K. Peace Mission, Chief Education Officer Natharam Dingra and the other Zonal Education Officers. Many parents and well wishers supported the rally by joining the march for our young girls. The school girls promised to live their lives courageously. They took an oath to live a beautiful life for God, for themselves and for others. The Principal Prescilla Lobo congratulated the girls for their courage to bring awareness among themselves for this rally. She also said that The Girls will lead India into the future by playing their part well.
