| 600 kg bhuki seized at Lakhanpur | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 8: A joint team of Excise and Lakhanpur police seized 600 kilogram bhuki from a Haryana based truck here at Toll Post Lakhanpur today.
On specific information that contraband of bhuki was on way to Haryana from Valley, excise sleuths laid a trap and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03B/7568 at the toll post Lakhanpur. They searched the truck and recovered 600 kilogram. Further, investigations revealed that even the registration number of the truck was not correct and its original number was HR46B-4449.
Driver of the truck identified as Jagat Singh son of Vir Singh of Hoisharpur in Punjab was arrested on spot. He was later handed over to the Lakhanpur police for legal action. Entire operation was supervised by Deputy Excise Commissioner Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed.
