Omar pays tributes to late Sheikh | Highlights his sacrifices for cause of people | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Sept 8 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday paid rich tributes to late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his death anniversary observed in the State today. Highlighting the struggle and sacrifices of late leader for the cause of people and the State throughout his life, Omar said that public welfare and progress of Jammu and Kashmir, irrespective of any consideration, was Sheikh Sahib’s cherished goal. The Chief Minister said that Sher-i-Kashmir laid the edifice of Naya Kashmir, stood strongly for mutual amity between various sections of the society, upheld the high principles of democracy, nurtured love and brotherhood and focused on the holistic development of the State particularly of poor and downtrodden sections of the society. Omar visited the Mazar (graveyard) of late leader at Hazratbal here, offered Fateh, and paid floral tributes. Ministers, Advisors to Chief Minister, MPs, Legislators, prominent citizens, political activists and general people were present on the occasion.
