NH closed for traffic: 200 vehicles stranded

Jammu, Dec 04
The 300-km long Jammu-Srinagar national highway was closed for the vehicular traffic following landslides triggered by heavy rain fall being experienced across the state since last twenty four hours, here today
Official sources said that the Highway was blocked in the backdrop of fresh land slides at various places adding that keeping in view continues rains, no vehicles was allowed from either side.
Sources said that about 200 vehicles are stranded on way from Batote to Banihal. Heavy downpour of rains in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir caused landslides in Panthihal area of Ramban belt resulting in the closure of the highway where 200 vehicles are stranded since today morning, they said.
The workers of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) are working to clear the highway of landslides and pave way for the resumption of the vehicular traffic on the road, they said.
