| Lok Adalat to take up long-pending problems through mediation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT

In a major initiative to cut down judicial backlog, the District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, organized a Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Udhampur, today .
The Lok Adalat was organized under the chairmanship of Brij Mohan Gupta, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur who is also Chairman of District Legal Service Authority.
Two benches were constituted in the Lok Adalat to dispose of cases .First bench comprising of Brij Mohan Gupta and Principal District and Sessions Judge, and Vinod Chatterjee Koul Additional session judge Udhampur was constituted to deal with MACT cases and the second bench comprising of Khem Raj Sharma Munsiff , District Mobile Magistrate and Isher Dass Sharma Advocate was constituted to deal with civil and criminal cases .
In the Lok Adalat total 9 cases which include MACT, Criminal and Civil were taken up out of which 3 cases were settled on spot.
