| Awareness campaigns on Integrated Parthenium Management held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 9: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri under the guidance of Director Extension Education, SKUAST-J, K.S. Risam and leadership of S.B. Singh, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Rajouri organised district wide awareness campaigns on Integrated Parthenium Management at Govt. Schools of Choudhary Nar, Dhangri, Doongi, Lamberi and Thandapani w.e.f. 5th to 9th September, 2011, respectively.
The said campaign was attended by more than 500 (five hundred) students and farmers including Sarpanches and Panches.
The deliberations onParthenium Management were made by\ A.P. Singh, SMS, Agronomy, and Rakesh Sharma, SMS, Agricultural Extension, KVK, Rajouri.
During the campaigns practical demonstrations were conducted to improve the technical competence of the participants.
Literature on Integrated Parthenium management was also distributed among the participants. The other scientific and non-scientific staff of KVK, Rajouri also rendered their services for the smooth conduct of the said campaigns.
Representatives of Department of Agriculture and Department of Animal Husbandry also attended the said campaigns.
These campaigns were highly appreciated by the farmers, students and administrations of the respective schools and requested that similar type of activities should be conducted in their areas from time to time.
