| Eco tourism workshops on Sept 27 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar Sept 9 : A workshop on ecotourism is being organized by Eco Tourism Society of India (ESOI) in partnership with J&K tourism and WWF India with the support of Union Tourism ministry India here on September 27.
Over 100 delegates from the tourism industry are expected to patricpate in the workshop. The workshop also commemorates the World Tourism Day on the September 27 with a strong signal of responsible tourism becoming the only vehicle to ride on for a sustainable tourism industry.
The workshops aim at setting corrective and curative measures with regard to tourism practices with ecological sensitivity and conservation of nature and community development in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. The challenge for the tourism service and providers is in implementing environmentally responsible and sustainable tourism practices. These practices will not only create a lighter footprints but will support the local communities and environment.
Nawang Rigzin Jora, minister for tourism & culture J&K and Nasir Aslam Wani, MoS Home and tourism are expected to attend the workshop.
