| Romesh reviews working at PHE Div. Akhnoor | | |

Minister of State for Industries and PHE, Dr. Romesh Chander today conducted a surprise visit to Public Health Engineering Division Akhnoor and reviewed the working. Minister also inspected the attendance register and ordered action against cashier Krishan Lal for remaining unauthorizedly absent from duty.
On inquiring about the strength of engineering and other staff, Minister found that have 15 Junior Engineers posted in the division have no assignment. Taking serious note of excessive staff in the division, Minister asked the higher authorities to immediately send their names to the department so that they could be posted to fill vacant posts at various far flung areas.
Minister asked the officials to work with dedication and warned them that stern action would be taken against those who shy away from their duties. He asked for completing taken up projects in stipulated time frame.
Minister also asked the authorities to formulate a project for construction of a gravity scheme for the areas lacking the facility of safe drinking water.
The Minister later visited irrigation division Akhnoor where he was informed that the Division has number of lift irrigation schemes for providing irrigation facilities to the farmers of the area. |
