| Mufti, Mehbooba condemn killing of party worker by NC activists | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Sept 9: Strongly condemning gruesome killing of party activist Mohammad Hanief by workers of ruling National Conference, former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti today said that ruling National Conference workers have let loose a reign of terror to terrorize political opponents.
In a joint statement issued here today, PDP leaders said that after completion of the Panchayat elections, ruling National Conference workers have started attack on activists of PDP in their respective areas to create terror on political opponent. They said that killing of Mohammad Hanief of Sonawari by National Conference workers was result of the reign of terror unleashed by the ruling party workers. They said that Mohammad Hanief was killed just because of political rivalry.
PDP leaders also condemned attitude of the police in dealing with goons of ruling party. They said that atrocities being committed by the ruling party workers on their political opponents were repeatedly brought to the notice of the police but no action has been taken in this regard. They regretted that instead of taking action against those who were involved in committing atrocities on their political rivals, police treating them with kid gloves and providing them royal treatments. PDP leaders expressed their heart felt condolences to the family of Mohammad Hanief.
