| DSE issues month long calendar for debate | | /symposia at distt/division levels | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 09 - On the instructions of Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, the Education department will conduct a debate contest on “Peace is pre-requisite for education and development” in the state on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti this year.
As per schedule issued here today by the Directorate of School Education Jammu, the debate will be conducted in all schools across the state for students from class 8th to 12th up to 11 September and first three winners from each school shall participate in zonal contest on 12th September to 16th September, 2011. Besides, the contest will be held at district level for the first three winners from zonal level on 17th to 25th September while first three winners from each district will participate in the divisional level contest on 27th September to 30th September, 2011.
A cash prize of Rs. 20,000/-, Rs. 15,000/- and Rs. 10,000 shall be paid to the first three winners each from Jammu division, Kashmir division and Ladakh region respectively on 2nd October, 2011 at SKICC between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Jammu Parade ground respectively.
All the Chief Education Officers are directed to ensure smooth conduct of the debate contest as per the schedule given above.
