DDC reviews performance of banks | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, SEPTMBER, 09 - To review the performance of all banks in key area of deposits and advance for the quarter ending June 2011 under Annual credit Plan 2011-12, the District Level Review Committee cum District Consultative Committee(DLRC/DCC) meeting of bankers and district officers of various Government Departments of district Udhampur was held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. Baseer Ahmed Khan here today. Additional District Development Commissioner, Mr. R.R. Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, Mr. H.H. Dutt, representative from RBI, Mr. Vikram, LDO RBI, Jammu, DDM NABARD, Mr. Manohar Lal, Project Officer DRDA, Udhampur and officers of line departments attended the meeting. During the meeting, detailed review was held on various points which mainly included promotion of Self Help Groups (SHGs), performance of different banks under various government sponsored schemes, achievement under agriculture and SSI sector, bank wise position of deposits and advances in Udhampur district, ground level credit flow under District Credit Plan and position of Kissan Credit Cards (KCCs) and SHGs issued by various banks. Stressing on greater need for generating awareness about different poverty alleviation schemes of the government, the DDC exhorted upon the bankers and sectoral officers of different departments to hold joint awareness camps in different locations of the district including remotest corner regarding these schemes so that poor masses could reap the benefits of these schemes for their economic betterment. The DDC also underlined the need of sanctioning eligible cases to lessen the difficulties of beneficiaries. He asked the officers of Banks and Line departments to fix targets according to the need and potential of the area concerned so that optimum results could be achieved. During the meeting, Lead District Manager, Udhampur, Mr. Kishore Sadhotra revealed that various banks have advanced Rs. 33.15 crore to 1499 beneficiaries in the district against a yearly target of Rs.132.94 crore under priority sectors. Further, the banks had also lended Rs. 12.37 crore under non priority sector advances during the first quarter of the current financial year.
