DDC assesses damages caused due to | rains, cloudburst in Akhnoor | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 09- Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sanjeev Verma on Friday visited various areas of Akhnoor to assess the damages caused to public and private infrastructure by the torrential rains and cloud burst. Officers from PWD, PDD, PHE, Irrigation, SDM Akhnoor and other concerned officers of various departments accompanied the DDC. Mr. Verma took stock of the damage caused in Nardi and Godhan villages in Akhnoor due to recent cloud burst that occurred in the intervening night of 7th and 8th of this month. He interacted with the affected families whose houses have been hit by the cloud burst. He directed the officers to immediate start the temporary restoration works in recent cloud burst affected areas for rehabilitation of the affected people. The DDC directed the officers to gear up their men and machinery for early restoration of the damaged property and work with added zeal and dedication. He asked them to ensure use of quality material in these works besides completing them in time. Later, the Deputy Commissioner also convened an officers meeting in his office chamber to prepared a roadmap for temporary and permanent restoration of damaged caused in Jammu district due to recent torrential rains and cloudburst.
