| Sarpanch in Kashmir held for molesting girl | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 09:A newly-elected village sarpanch and his associate were arrested in north Kashmir's Baramulla district Friday for molesting a girl, police said. Police here said Friday evening: "Baramulla police arrested two persons, Ghulam Mohammad, sarpanch Bimyar, and Khursheed Ahmad, for molesting a girl. "An FIR has been registered against the accused persons on the complaint of the girl's father.
"The complainant alleged his daughter was restrained and caught hold of by the accused persons while she was on way to her school.
"She was ruthlessly beaten by the accused who attempted to outrage her modesty," police said.
Earlier in the day, one person was arrested in north Kashmir's Ganderbal district for allegedly raping a mentally challenged teenager. |
