| 2 held with 70 kg poppy straw | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 10: Two persons were today arrested by police at Bikram Chowk here
while they were trying to smuggle poppy straw in two trucks.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted trucks (JK02AJ/6457 and JK14A/9926) at Bikram
Chowk and recovered 70 kg poppy straw from them.
The trucks and the poppy straw were seized and their operators arrested, police
sources said.
The accused were identified as Mandeep Singh alias Vicky, son of Joginder Singh, and
Joginder Singh alias Nikka, son of Harnam Singh, both residents of Simble Camp. Both
were booked under NDPS Act.
