Experts favour upgrading security grid in Kishtwar-Doda belt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU,Sept 10: Following tracing of terror email to Kishtwar, senior government functionaries were said to have asked police to upgrade security and intelligence grid in Doda-Kishtwar belt. In the email, Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HUJI) had claimed responsibility for the recent
Delhi high court blast. Official sources said police had been asked to set up additional nakas for carrying out
round-the-clock checking of vehicles and keeping an eye on the movement of
suspects. Intelligence agencies had also been asked to step up surveillance on suspected people
in the sensitive areas so that militants operating in Kishtwar and adjoining areas were
either nabbed or eliminated. Sources said since 2004-2005, some HUJI and LeT activists had entered Kishtwar after
coming to India via Nepal on fake passports. This revelation was made by a HUJI militant who had along with his accomplices
surrndered before security forces in Kishtwar over five years ago, the sources added. Sources said security experts had suggested police to get in touch with army for
carrying out joint operations against militants in Kishtwar-Doda belt.
