| 7th Saif-ud-Din memorial knockout football tournament | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Sept 10: 7th Saif-ud-Din Memorial Knockout Football Tournament was kicked off at S.P. College ground after a gap of 23 years organized by S.P. College in collaboration with J&K Football Association here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by Prof. Khalida Saif, daughter of Late Prof. Saif-ud-Din. Director Information Renzushah was Chief Guest on the occasion. Among others, Principal S.P. College, Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Chatt renowned columnist, Dr Javed Iqbal, Principals and Lecturers of various colleges and large numbers of sports lovers were present during the inaugural event.
The first match of the tournament was played between Zahid sports and Young Lal Chowk. Young Lal Chowk team won the match with 4-0. The second match of the tournament was played between Court Road Club and JK PDC eleven. The match was won by PDC by 3-1.
Rayees of Young Lal Chowk bagged the prize of Rs 500 by scoring the first goal of the tournament-sponsored by the Amity University. Family of the Late Professor Saif-ud-Din has announced cash prize of Rs 50,000 to the winner and Rs 30,000 to the runners-up team.
