| Three days workshop on Model rocketry concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sep 10: The three days workshop on Model Rocketry concluded today at Parshant Public High School, Nagrota, Udhampur.
The workshop was organized by National Council For Urban & Rural Dev. Society (NCURDS), Jammu and catalyzed & supported by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
In the workshop, both private and Govt. schools participated in which more than 90 participants including students and teachers took part.
The experts were Mohammad Farooq and Anil Prajapat, both from Rajasthan.
The main events of the workshop were means and importance of Model Rocketry, demonstration of Fabrication of Single Stage Rocket and getting them prepared from the participants also.
The focus was on the forces acting on a model rocket by Mohammad Farooq from Bikaner, Rajasthan. The concepts of stability, center of gravity, center of pressure, swing test and engine fitting demonstration by Anil Prajapat from Churu, Rajasthan. Test flight of three model rockets was also done by both the experts.
The main event was the launching of the model rocket by the participants who themselves prepared and fabricated their rockets under the guidance and observation of the experts.
During launching ceremony of model rocket; Vaid Prakash Sharma, district planning education officer, Udhampur was chief guest who joined with the participants and also surprised himself with launching of model rocket and says that ”It is really a exciting and thrilling experience.” He also thanks of NCURDS in promoting such science popularization programmes.
In the valedictory function, Vaid Prakash Sharma along with Kuldeep Gupta, State Academic Coordinator (NCSC) distributed certificates among the participants. Both of them also spoke on the occasion and praised the role of NCURDS in conducting such activities.
Most of the principals of the participating schools also joined the valedictory function and thanked Zaffar Ullah Khan for organizing this thrilling and knowledgeable workshop in their district.
In the end, Zaffar Ullah Khan founder secretary general, NCURDS thanked the experts Mohammad Farooq and Anil Prajapat & the participants for spending their valuable time and in order to make the workshop a great success. He also thanked the management of the host school for hospitality and Media persons for coverage of this programme.
