Workshop on “Role of Youth against Corruption” concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sep 10: Two days workshop on the theme “Role of Youth against Corruption” was organized by the NSS Unit of G.G.M. Science College, Jammu.
The function was presided over the principal of the college & the chief guest on the 2ndday of the workshop was Deepika Singh Rajawat, advocate & a renowned social activist who is working as member, Juvenile Welfare Board for the welfare of neglected children.
The 1st session started with welcome address by the principal, who spoke on the menace of corruption and advised the students to actively participate in such activities and contribute in eliminating this menace.
Deepika Singh Rajawat spoke at length about corruption and role of youth against this menace.
In her address she said there is a need of organizing a nationwide campaign against corruption, creating a youth parliament simulation so that young people debate the country’s current affairs.
She said the youth are the backbone of the country and should educate themselves, learn to value human qualities. Then only then can handle worse situation and take this country towards prosperity.
She also said to abolish this corruption from our society we should firstly acquire true education this will help us to become a honest and honesty is able to fight against corruption.
In the 2nd session, a debate competition was organized. 16 NSS Volunteers participated in the competition. Deepika Singh, Seema Arora & Alpana Vohra acted as judges.
Sandeep Kour, Vandana & Paramjeet Kour were at adjudged 1st, 2ndand 3rd respectively in the competition.
The workshop ended with vote of thanks by the programme officer Rajinder Singh and Ram Singh.
On this occasion the whole volunteers team was led by NSS Commander Rohit Kumar and Navjot Bakshi.
