PDP Shopian MLA visited the fire victims | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, September 10: Peoples Democratic Party MLA Shopian, Abdul Razak Zawoora visited the victims of fire incident at Gatipora Shali-Banjar Shopian and took notice of the conditions of the members. In a press Statement issued Abdul Razak has appealed the government to immediately compensate the loss and make necessary arrangement for the rehabilitation of the victimized family even provide free ration, tin sheets and timber to the victims. He said, “The government should keep in to consideration the plight of the family as winters are approaching. It is mandatory for the government to take immediate action, so that the family would not suffer in the coming harsh winter season.” He also asserted that presently the family does not have any alternative shelter; they are seeking the necessary government attention and aid. Abdul Razak also visited the High school in the area and inspected its functioning. The school administration briefed him about the issues of the shortage of the teaching staff. They intimated the MLA that the school is overburdened with the enrollment of the students and there is severe shortage of teaching staff. He also took the notice of the depleted condition of the road from Machawar to Gatipora and asked the authorities to speed up the repair work so that the people may not face any inconvenience by the pathetic condition of this road. The R& B officials assured MLA that the development work on this road will be taken on priority.
