| Freshers cum farewell party organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur, Sep 10: The students of PG Dept of English of Govt Degree College Udhampur organised a Freshers Cum Farewell Party to extend a welcome note to the Fresher students of MA English Semester I and to bid adieu to the outgoing students of Semester IV.
Tara Nath, principal GDC Banihal was the special guest on this occasion . Principal of the College Nutan K. Resutra conveyed his best wishes to all the students and said that the students of the Dept. have always enriched the campus life by organizing such events.
In his address Tara Nath congratulated the outgoing students and greeted freshers to the college.
He appreciated the healthy practice of the Dept. to celebrate this occasion every year. The programme began with lighting the traditional lamp followed by an invocation to the goddess Saraswati.
The party provided platform to the senior and junior students to understand and interact with each other.
Others who addressed the students include Ruth K. Messih, HOD English, B.A Dar & Sudhir Singh.
Students exchanged titles and gifts on this occasion. A party dance marked the attraction of the programme in which all the students participated. Clad in colorful traditional and formal attire the students could be seen enthusiastic on this celebration. All the staff members of the Dept. attended the program.
