Ex-servicemen week celebrated by ex-servicemen, families

JAMMU, Sept 10: Ex-Servicemen of Jammu & Kashmir, as usual, are celebrating ex-servicemen week from 15 Sep throughout the State during which ex-servicemen and widows of the soldiers (Veer Narries) will assemble to highlight their problems in the state and also at the local level.
Decorated soldiers will be given prominence.
District level rallies will be held at prominent places. Token ex-servicemen flags will be pinned on the prominent guests invited. Prominent ex-servicemen and members of the civil society will be invited and requested to speak about the role of the Armed Forces and Ex-Servicemen in maintaining peace on the borders and communal harmony in the State. In the rallies the speakers will bring out the contribution of the Armed Forces and their sacrifices for the Nation. At the same time they will also bring out the problems being faced by them particularly in the State.
