| Madan, Sham seek people’s, public representatives’ cooperation in exposing black sheep in system | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 11: The Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma today urged upon the people and public representatives to cooperate with the government to expose those who are abetting corruption in the society.
Sharma was delivering his presidential address at a symposium on “Corruption Free Society A Need Of The Hour” organized by Mandli Mitran Di, an NGO .
Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Sham Lal Sharma, Vice chairman OBC advisory board, Kuldeep Raj Verma, EX-MLA, Prakesh Sharma ,Civil society Activist and former Judge Pavitra Singh, Sh Narayan Singh President Rajput Sabha, Ved Sharma President Brahman Sabha, Inderjeet Khajuria President Hotel Association Jammu, besides over 500 people from various political, social and civil society organizations were present on the occasion.
A colorful cultural program was also presented by the local artists on the occasion. M K Mukherjee welcomed the VIPS and guests on the occasion and spoke at-length about the objectives of the Mandli and the motto behind organizing today’s symposium.
The Member Parliament said that eradication of corruption from the society needs a strong conviction and massive public awareness. He said people have a great role in the fight as they shall refuse to yield before the person who forces them to shell out gratification for getting their works done.
Sharma who is also chief Patron of Mandli Mitran Di thanked all the guests for participating in the program. He said that one must work honesty as per work allotted and if every person follows this practice then there will be no corruption in the society. He said that we need to control our greediness and start leading a simple and healthy life. He admitted that the system has gone corrupt from top to bottom.
Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma said that if the public representatives, including legislators launch a joint crusade against the menace the day is not far when the esteem would be purged off the corruption.
He said the time has come when the cleansing shall start from top to bottom and not from bottom to top. He said that he has started the practice of professional audit of health department which is copied by other states as a good practice.
