Sharma asks authorities to assess damages to property, crops | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT AKHNOOR, SEPTEMBER 11: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Sharma today visited cloudburst affected villages here to assess the damages to the crops, residential houses and other public utilities in the area. The Minister was accompanied by a high level team of officers from Revenue, Agriculture, Flood Control and other concerned departments. The affected villages visited by the Minister included Godhan, Nardi, Latti, Graahtal, Kathar and Balla. The Minister interacted with the members of the affected families and assured them of every help from the government. He was told that over 25 houses were damaged in Godhan village, while 10 in Nardi village due to landslides triggered by the cloud bursts. The Minister also inspected the damages caused to the standing crop and public utilities. The Minister told the concerned departments to conduct a survey to assess the damages so that the affected families are provided relief and other assistance for their rehabilitation. He also instructed the authorities to take up the repair work on public utilities and restore the damaged roads to avoid inconvenience top the public. During the tour the Minister also inspected the pace of work on the upcoming additional block at the Higher Secondary school Nardi. He asked the executing agency to complete the work in the stipulated time frame as the students were facing problem due to inadequate accommodation.
