Akhil Mahajan Memorial Badminton tourney begins

The 2nd Akhil Mahajan Memorial J&K Open Badminton Tournament was got under way at Badminton Hall Indoor Sports Complex M.A. Stadium here today with the 1st round matches were completed in both boys and girls section. Total 229 shuttlers from different districts in different age groups are participating in the badminton championship. The 5 day long tournament will conclude on Aug 3. Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Darshan Mahajan leading business of J&K state. Others who were present on the occasion were Dr. OD Sharma Joint Secretary Badminton Association of India, Durga Dass Advsor to J&K Badminton Association, Krishan Lal Sharma Chief Sports Officer J&K State Sports Council, Vijay Dewan and Som Raj Gupta both international badminton players along with other prominent citizens of the state. However, following are the results of today’s matches:
1st Round:
Mini- Boys Singles: Parth bt varun by 15-3 & 15-2.
Chander bt Mahinder by 15-1&15-3.
D.S. Shivam bt Akhil by 15-6 & 15-1.
Rajat bt Rajan by 15-6&15-1.
Sarvagya got walkover Ankit.
Ayush bt Lalit by 15-6 & 15-10.
Roshan got walkover Akshay.
Mini Girls Singles: Parul bt Silvie by 13-11, 12-13 & 11-2.
Arushi bt Diksha, Prabhjot bt Gagandeep, Rashika bt Nikita, Tanjula bt Saleeka and Payal bt Gurpreet.
Sub Junior Girls Singles: Sulakshna bt Sonam, Keeratpreet bt Neha and Inakshi bt Sudas.
Mini Girls Doubles: Tanjula and Arushi bt Nitika and Nidhi.
Diksha and Roshika bt Parul priya and Silvie.
Sub Junior Girls Doubles: Prabhjot and Keeratpreet bt Neha and Nidhi.
Payal and Inakshi bt Anchal and Sonam.
Manisha and Sulakshni bt Sundas and Sakshi.
2nd Round: Sub-Junior Boys Singles: Aditya Manhas bt Komil, Shiva bt Saktishan, Anuj bt Sarang, Ashish bt Sanchit, Abhishek bt Kashish, Abhijeet bt Siddharth Jain, Faisal bt Kavish and Parth bt Divyansh.
