NSF concludes 1st phase of agitation; to launch 2nd phase

Jammu, Sep 11: After successful completion of first phase of movement against the prevailing corruption in Jammu University, the National Secular Forum (NSF) today announced the launch the second phase in which mass awareness will be held to expose the misdeeds of Vice Chancellor Prof Varun Sahni.

Addressing a press conference, NSF president Vikas Sharma said "Keeping in mind the academic interest of University students we are announcing the closing of the first phase of agitation against the misdeeds of Vice Chancellor."

In this phase we opposed VC tooth and nail on the campus, and the students along with scholars joined the movement, he added. He said it was a successful first phase in which support was mobilized to a great extent against the morally corrupt VC as an outcome of which the state government has not granted him extension so far.

We appeal the Chief Minister and the Governor to take the notice of resentment against VC and out him on his schedule time.

Sharma informed that second phase of the agitation will be launched tomorrow under which mass awareness be created among the students, scholars and other people so that VC could be exposed to the maximum extent.

The written material with the proper information on VC's activities will be circulated among the people.

However, he asked the 4-member high level inquiry committee to complete its probe as quickly as possible.

"The committee must submit its report to the Governor within the stipulated period so that Government could take action against the culprits who misappropriated University money and resources.

Among those who were present in the press conference included Sukdev Singh, Shafqat Malik, Surjit Choudhary and Ravi Choudhary.
