| INIFD student designers shine at Lakme Fashion Week | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sep 12: Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) Jammu students Pinky, Tanu, Savita, Parul, Shivani & Janika is proud achiever as his/her designer garment were showcased at ‘The Source’ at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2011 along with the likes of Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Neeta Lulla, Wendell Rodricks, JJ Vallaya, Rina Dhaka, Anita Dongre, Pria Kataaria Puri and many more where the buyers, top international & national media, film stars & celebrities recognized and appreciated the designing caliber of budding INIFD designers.
INIFD is the ‘official knowledge partner’ with India’s premier fashion and lifestyle event - Lakme Fashion Week.
The association provides excellent exposure to INIFD students being part of the Fashion Week at various levels, thus enhancing their practical skills.
This season Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2011 happened to see innovative silhouettes, Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) rolled out some of the best creations by its 150 student designers from pan India at ‘The Source’ at Lakme Fashion Week - blending tradition and modernism - from 17th to 21st August 2011 at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.
Vanita Thakur, Centre Director of INIFD Jammu said ‘I am very happy and proud to see the designer garment of our student at ‘The Source’ at Lakme Fashion Week. INIFD has given this prestigious Lakme Fashion Week platform to its students to portray pure timeless silhouettes.
INIFD has set a novel bench mark by giving its student an opportunity to showcase their works in the same arena as the Lakme Fashion Week designers.
More than 1000 entries were received from all across India and out of which only 160 designer garments were selected by the panel of designers’.
‘The Source’ at Lakme Fashion Week gave a sneak peak into a designer's creation providing an exclusive look at the best creations by INIFD students giving the fashion forward guests a preview of the future designers in India.
INIFD student designer Pinky, Tanu, Savita, Parul, Shivani & Janika said “We are very thankful to INIFD for giving this opportunity to display our designer garment at the India’s biggest platform Lakme Fashion Week. We are proud student of INIFD as our institute has helped us to learn the techniques of Fashion and has given us this biggest platform to showcase our talent and creativity”.
