MLC tours border villages | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 12-To listen to the demands and grievances of the people of the border villages, MLC Subash Gupta conducted an extensive tour of border villages of Hiranagar constituency. People of village Mawa Madoon demanded blacktopping of Mawa Madoon road, repair of existing tube well, measures for overcoming problem of low voltage in the area, immediate modification of BPL list, electric poles for un-electrified houses of the village, pension for widows and old age peoples. Responding to the demands, MLC Subash Gupta disclosed that a camp will be organized by the social welfare department to identify the peoples for pensions under old age and widow’s pension scheme. He also directed J.E PHE to repair the tube well immediately. Village Palura deputation demanded street lights, pending payments under NEREAGA, fresh BPL survey in the area, payment of pending compensation to drought affected farmers of Kharief 2009 crops. Palura deputation also demanded construction of cremation shed for the village in response to which MLC announced Rs.1 lakh out of his CDF. Village Saarthian people demanded replacement of old electric wires to overcome problem of low voltage, upgradation of transformer, and appointment of sanctioned strength of teachers at middle school Saarthian. MLC assured that electric wires will soon be replaced and transformer in the area shall be upgraded shortly. People of Village Chacahwal projected demands like provision for a play ground, passenger shed, kerosene oil depot, construction of middle school boundary wall. MLC Subash Gupta listed the problems of the people sympathetically and assured that their demands will be considered on priority basis.
