| Govt pays no heed towards genuine demands of people : Bukhari | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar Sept 12: MLA Sangrama Basharat Bukhari has expressed concern over the ‘careless attitude’ of the government over the developmental work in the north Kashmir.
“The government pays no heed towards the genuine demands of the people of the area. Be it effectively implementing MNREGA or empowering Panchayats – the present government is a failure,” Bukhari alleged.
In a statement he said that the implementation of the MNREGA requires a well coordinated execution of a chalked-out plan by the state government. “However, there is a complete failure of the effective implementation of the scheme in the north Kashmir. This scheme is supplemented by the central government and is a huge effort to address the rural unemployment. But, because of the certain prejudices by the current government and utter lack of accountability by the officers responsible, the government fails in the execution and the implementation of the programme in the said area.
Bukhari also asserted that there is no approval for the developmental programmes whose estimate has been finalized since a long ago. He said one fails to understand why there has been such a delay in the projects to be initiated if all the legal formalities have been completed.
