Khajuria gets started nallah work | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 12: Jammu East MLA of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ashok Khajuria, along with District President Rajesh Gupta, visited Shalimar area of the constituency and got started the construction work of nallah from Jambulochan Chowk to Rameshwar Mandir and to SMGS Hospital. This work will cost an amount of rupees 22 lakh and UEED will be the executing agency. Ashok Khajuria, while speaking on the occasion, said that the recent heavy rains during this monsoon season created a lot of problems for the people. In absence of proper sewerage facility in few pockets of old city, the rain waters over flew the drains and nallahs and entered the houses, shops and godowns caused heavy financial losses. Many houses got badly damaged. Hence, it was felt that there should be nallahs of wider width and proper covering so that such incidents are not allowed to take place soon. He said this nallah, after construction, will obviously serve the purpose to a great extent. He assured that being elected representative, he has the full knowledge about the areas which are in need of proper sewerage system and the matter is being taken up with the concerned department.
