Youngsters fail to impress as Punjab gets 2 pts | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Sept 12: Young cricketers of the state failed to impress as they suffered yet another defeat in the hands of Punjab in the in ongoing North Zone under-14 cricket tournament, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, here today. Punjab resumed their innings from overnight score of 33 without loss and declared their innings at 304 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 79 overs in the two-day tie. Later, in their second innings, J&K were 58 for one in 19 overs. On the basis of first innings lead, Punjab awarded two points. Abhishek Sharma hit a brilliant century making 102 runs while Raman Bishon contributed 63 runs. From J&K, Shubam Singh clinched five wickets while Rishab Gupta took two. Earlier, in the first innings, J&K scored 212 runs in given 95 overs for the loss of nine wickets yesterday. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Himachal Pradesh earned two points against Delhi on the basis of their first innings lead.
