UDHAMPUR, SEPT 12 - In its endeavors to increase green cover in Udhampur and its peripheral areas, 137 Bn of Central Reserve Police Forcetoday launched a massive plantation drive.Commandant, J. Majumdar formally launched the drive by planting a sapling of ornamental plant in the premises of SRTC complex Udhampur this morning.
Among others, Dy, Commandant, 137, Bn CRPF, O.P. Pandey, Assistant Commandant, 137, Bn CRPF, Mrs. Renuka, Inspector, Pardeep Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Adalat Hussian, Sub Inspector , Bhupal Singh, Range Officer, Social Forestry, Udhampur, Chuni Lal Sharma, besides Jawans of CRPF also took part in the plantation drive.
Giving the detail of plantation drive, Dy. Commandant informed that one thousand plants of different species including medicinal, ornamental, shady trees and fruit plants would be planted in Jakhani, Batal Ballian, Tamator More and Dhramthal CRPF camps for making the camp sites more environmental friendly.
