Tara Chand calls upon youth to play bigger role in Nation building

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 12 – Describing youth as future of the nation, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said country has high hopes on its younger generation and they have to play a bigger role in the process of Nation building.
He said youth are strength of the Nation and should come together and join hands to become stakeholders in the decision making process of the country.
“Just as future of any house is dependant on its younger generation, similarly for the congress party, youth are the hope for tomorrow,” he added.
He said this while addressing young activists who had gathered in scores, on the launch of membership drive program of the Youth Congress, here today.
Lauding efforts of Rahul Gandhi for promoting democratic procedure in all ranks of the youth congress, the Deputy Chief Minister said that under the able guidance of Gandhi the process of election for different posts of Youth Congress has been started all over the nation and the same would promote representative leadership in the rank and file of the party.
He said youth of the state should participate in large numbers to strengthen the party and encourage the initiative taken by Rahul Gandhi.
Appreciating efforts of UPA, Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in strengthening the party at all levels, Tara Chand said the program launched to strengthen roots of congress party has been given a head start in the state and hoped that record membership would be created.
Describing corruption as one of the biggest challenges before the country, the Deputy Chief Minister said that fight against it begins at home and the issue needs to be firstly taken up at individual level, adding that, everybody should first introspect and rage a war against corruption at personal level; automatically the menace would get tamed.
Among others the function was attended by MLA, Bhaderwah Mohd. Sharief Niaz, MLC Ravinder Sharma, Senior Vice-President, Dharam Pal, Former Ministers Jugal Kishore Sharma, Gharu Ram, Secretary, PCC Narinder Sharma, President Sewa Dal, B.S. Sambyal and other senior national and state level functionaries of NSUI and Youth Congress.
