| PHE workers hold dharna, raise several demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Sep 12:
PHE Workers Welfare Association staged one day long dharna in front of the office of Executive Engineer PHE civil division Kathua in support of the long pending demands of the workers.
The protest dharna was led by the district Kathua president of the association Joginder Paul Sharma and urged the coalition government to solve the long pending genuine demands such as release of wages at the rate Rs 125 per day in regular manner, stop monthly absent of workers, maintain the seniority list in case of permanent and DPC must be conducted shortly.
The Association stressed upon regularization of the daily wagers who have completed seven years of service and also demanded to issue the necessary material like torches, umbrella, boots and other equipments to the field workers. On the occasion the Gen Secy, Province Subash Verma while addressing the employees at dharna has said that our agitation shall be continue till the demands are not conceded. In the dharna Baldev Singh, Paritam Singh, Ram Gopal, Karnail Singh Gulshan Kumar, Jai Paul and etc were present.
