| Cancellation of supplementary engg exam | | NPSU hold demonstration against JU decision | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 12:
National Panthers Students’ Union (NPSU) held a massive protest demonstration at Old GCET Campus, Jammu against the Jammu University authorities who have issued a notification for the cancellation of supplementary exam of engineering students and strongly demanded for the cancellation of said notification.
The protesting students representing various engineering colleges under the leadership of Lalit Raina, Javed Iqbal, Aditya Hans, Vikrant Sharma and Peer Rubani gathered at Old GCET Campus, Jammu and held protest demonstration.
Later the protesting students held a dharna outside the office of the Principal of GCET and shouted slogans against the University authorities and Principal of GCET. After near about one hour the Principal GCET called the students for negotiation where thread bare discussion took place between students and the concerned authorities. Principal assured the students that their demands have been considered by the concerned authorities and their file will be submitted in the office of Registrar, University of Jammu and their matter will be taken up at priority. He also sought one week’s time for resolving this issue of the engineering students.
Addressing the gathering after the meeting, Partap Singh Jamwal (Provincial President NPSU) said that the classes will not be boycott from tomorrow onwards which were being boycotted daily for last five days and also warned the concerned authorities that if they fail to fulfill the genuine demands of engineering students within the stipulated time, indefinite agitation will be launched for the support of these students.
