| Musical talent audition gets underway | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 12:
A 3-day musical talent audition was formerly inaugurated at the K.L. Sehgal Auditorium of the Abhinav Theatre here today.
The programme has been organized by the: Parvana Musical Group and Sangam Theatre Group Reasi in collaboration with the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu. As many as 250 candidates participated/in the programme on the 1st day. On the occasion, prominent Journalist and Gen. Secy. Press Club, Jammu, Suhail Qazmi was the Chief Guest and Savita Bakshi, Additional Secy. Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu was the Guest of Honour.
The prominent personalities who judged the performance of the candidates included, Yash Pal (Yash), Dr. Usha Kher. Poornima Sharma and Vinay Gupta.
The objective of organizing such programmes is to encourage young and upcoming talent of the state in the field of art and culture.
Expressing his views, Sohail Qazmi, Gen. Secy. Press Club, Jammu and a prominent Journalist said that Jammu and Kashmir is a hub of talent which we have to make use of.
The Additional Secretary Cultural Academy, Jammu, Savita Bakshi, appreciated the interest shown by the youth in participating in such programmes. She said that organizers will always support them 'so that they will bring laurels to the state.
