Bandh in Kishtwar over alleged slow pace of probe in terror email | | | Asif Iqbal Naik KISHTWAR, Sept 12: A peaceful bandh was today observed in the township against the alleged slow pace of investigation into the terror email traced to global internet cafe here after the Delhi high court blast. Announcing the bandh from Jamia Masjid, Imam Farooq Ahmed Kitchloo condemned the Delhi blast while criticising the investigating agencies over slow pace of progress in the ongoing investigation into the terror email sent from global internet cafe. He said the slow pace of investigation was a cause of worry for the parents of school and college students who had been detained by police. Kitchloo demanded to expedite the investigation, saying officers who were expert in dealing with cyber crime should be engaged. He said he wanted punishment to culprits but did not want harassment of innocent people. Later, a deputation led by Kitchloo called on deputy commissioner Mohammad Hussain Malik and discussed the alleged matter of "unnecessary" harassment of people by police. Meanwhile, even after five days of probe, police had failed to identify the man who had sent the terror email to media houses in Delhi after the blast. Sharik Khawar Butt (16) and Abid Hussain Bhawani (15) continued to be in police detention along with Ashwani Kumar (cafe incharge) and Rajinder Kumar. Sunny Sharma and Sanjay Kumar were, however, allowed to go homes last night, with the direction to appear before investigating agencies in the morning. Official sources said police were likely to register an FIR against unknown persons for sending the terror email from Kishtwar. Families of Sharik and Abid and somelocals last night sat on dharna inside Kishtwar police station for more than two hours. They, however, lifted their dharna after they were allowed to meet the detained boys. |
