| JMC conducts drive against use of polythene carry bags | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu,Sept 13: Under instructions from S.C Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu, the Enforcement Staff led Chief Enforcement Officer carried out a drive against the use of polythene carry bags in the areas of Akhnoor Road, Paloura, Patta Bohri, Talab Tillo, Canal Road etc. & the team inspected the shops and other outlets.
An amount of Rs. 6900/- was charged as fine from 32 defaulters on spot who were using the polythene carry bags in these areas and the team also seized about 35 Kgs of Polythene carry bags during the drive in these areas.
Besides this, the team also made the people aware of the ban imposed by the state Govt. on the use of polythene carries bags and they were requested to discard its use and adopt alternate arrangement to carry their commodities
