| Martyrs of Kishtwar remembered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kishtwar September 13:- People of Kishtwar remembered the martyrs of 1974 and 1981 who laid their lives for sanctioning of Degree College Kishtwar in 1974 and for grant of district status to Kishtwar in the year 1981.
On this occasion an impressive function was held at Shaheedi Mazar Kishtwar in which thousands of people from different walks of life including college/school students, beside general public.
People of Kishtwar since early morning offered flowers to the graves of martyrs and paid rich tribute to martyrs Mohammad Iqbal Zarger, Ravinder Kumar, Gain Chand and Abdul Kabir Sheikh who laid their lives for the cause of students while fighting for sanction of Degree College at Kishtwar, where as another youth whose name is also Mohammad Iqbal Zarger laid his life in the year 1981, when people of Kishtwar under Kishtwar Public Front launched District agitation in Kishtwar.
Today’s main function was presided over by veteran leader Manmohan Gupta who along with Lt. Thakur Seva Ram Parihar, Lt. Ghulam Hussain Arman, Shabir Ahmed Kamal, Master Ashok Kumar, Raj Rani plays important role in both agitations.
Among the prominent who spoke on this occasion includes MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Khurshid Ahmed Butt (Rtd. DC), Anil Parihar, Rajinder Wazir, Ashok Parihar, Jughal Bhandari, Ajaiz Naik and others.
Apart from paying rich tributes to martyrs, speakers made sincere appeal to the people of Kishtwar for maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood in Kishtwar
