| Case against me false, frivolous: Sarpanch Bain | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Sep 13
Sarpanch Panchayat Halqua Bain Chenani Rakesh Chand Anthal today demanded a probe against the Station House Officer Chenani who has implicated him under a false and frivolous case by registering FIR against him.
Addressing a press conference here today Sarpanch alleged that SHO Chenani has booked him in a false case as he has brought his highhandedness before media few days back.
He alleged that SHO has levelled baseless allegations against him that inauguration plate was broken by me and other panches but the truth is that inauguration plate is still intact at the school which shows highhandedness of police. He alleged that truth is that SHO harassed and abused them during school building inauguration on September 10 in front of public on the patronage of some political leaders. He demanded inquiry in to it otherwise all the panches of the area will launch agitation in this regard.
Meanwhile, a large number of villagers also block road at Chenani in support of Sarpanch. They vouched for his innocence. Villagers alleged that the case registered against the Sarpanch was false.
However, SHO Chenani said that we received a written complaint from headmaster and ZEO of Bain on 10th of this month who had shown apprehension of breach of peace by Sarpanch and his men.
SHO said inauguration plate was broken by Sarpanch in front of police personnel adding that he was booked under law.
