Make use of UID for transparent implementation of ISSS: CS Over 3.53 lakh people covered under ISSS | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 13-: Calling for introduction of Unique Identification (UID) system for fair implementation of Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS), Chief Secretary Madhav Lal today stressed on bringing all left over beneficiaries under social security schemes. Reviewing implementation of ISSS, the Chief Secretary directed the Social Welfare department to gear up its field staff for preparation of UID to cover all pension cases, adding the system will help clear backlog of pension cases expeditiously. It was given out in the meeting that 3, 53,580 cases have been brought under the ambit of ISSS, who are provided pension periodically in a transparent and fair manner. A total of 65, 427 cases, however, are still pending with the department, the meeting was told. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister B B Vyas, Commissioner/ Secretary, Social Welfare Jeet Lal Gupta besides other senior officers participated in the meeting.
