JCC to resume agitation from Sept 26 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sept 13: Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of the Jammu and Kashmir government employees has again given a four day long pen down strike from September 26-29, in protest of against the failure of administration to fulfill its promises regarding full implementation of 6th Pay Commission report.
Addressing a press conference, senior JCC member, Ram Kumar Sharma said that as government has adopted delaying tactics to ignore the rights of the workers, who want release of pay commission arrears on the pattern of central government, they have left with no option but to continue their agitation.
Ram Kumar warned that if their demands are not met by end of this month, they will intensify their protest programme.
“In light of the present scenario and arrogant attitude of the Omar Abdullah led administration they have left us with no option but to pursue the path of agitation”, he said.
Leaders of JCC representing nearly 40 employees unions once again reiterated their demand that government should fulfill its commitment made with the union representatives from time to time.
They urged the administration to issue the order of contractual and adhoc employees which was to be issued on February 2009 as announced by the government in floor of the house and May 14 2010 cabinet sub-committee order to issued the orders within 15 days but failed till so far.
Ram Kumar also demanded enhancement of retirement age from 58 years to 60 years, removal of pay anomalies of different cadre and implementation of the agreement of clerical cadre on March 2008.
“Government should settle the grievances of public sector employees, Rehber-e-Taleem, Anganwari workers, regulation of promotion of different cadre and also implement the DA order in favour of PSU employees”, he said.
