Guv inaugurates hi-tech Centre for Sight at Jammu EARLY TIMES REPORT | | | JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 13-Governor Mr. N N Vohra on Tuesday evening inaugurated a ‘Centre for Sight’ Group of Eye Hospitals, pioneers in state- of- the- art eye care. The Centre has been established in association with Sood Eye Centre. Pradesh Congress Committee Chief, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz, Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Chairman Centre for Sight Dr. Mahipal Singh, Director Health Services Dr. Madhu Khullar, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma, Deputy Director Information PR Mr. Suram Chand Sharma, Dr. Alka Sachdev, CEO, Centre for Sight and medical experts were present in large numbers. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vohra congratulated the people of Jammu and appreciated the initiative taken by Dr. Mahipal Sachdev to bring a state-of-art facility to Jammu. The Centre for Sight has an in-house panel of more than 60 leading ophthalmologists and seeks to provide accurate clinical opinions based on the latest technology to maximize patient comfort and safety. With a dedicated staff and state-of-the-art technology, the Centre for Sight has succeeded in its mission: “To create the most preferred brand of super specialized Eye Care Centers in North India”. Centre for Sight now brings the eye care to Jammu and Kashmir. In his address, PCC Chief Prof Saf-ud-din Soz said Central Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has provided liberal funding in upgradating and opening of new hospitals in every corner of the State by providing latest techniques equipments so that the patients could be treated at their doorsteps. Prof Soz said on the opening of Centre for Sight hospital, the eye patients of J&K would be treated from well trained doctors besides finest technology available there. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Health Mr. Sham Lal Sharma said that the Government has declared health as priority sector as a result of which health care facilities in the State are fast improving. He said that innovative reforms introduced in the health department have led to better delivery of services on the ground, while massive upgradation of health infrastructure was going on side by side. He said most of the district and sub-district hospitals have been provided critical health care infrastructure which has eased rush at the referral hospitals.
