| Shiv Sena protests Digdol accident, demands action against officers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 14:-The workers of the Shiv Sena and Dogra Front under the leadership of Ashok Gupta President took out a procession against the accident near Ramban.
The protesters said that the cause of the accident was overloading as about 58 passengers were on board.
Due to overloading 24 died on spot and 26 injured were shifted to GMC Jammu. Demanding registration of a case against RTO, SSP Traffic National highway and Driver of the vehicle under section 307 and immediate suspension from the services, the protesters alleged rampant corruption in the Traffic Department, Transport Department.
Protesting Shiv Sainiks said that the total death cases of accident from January to upto September 14 is 1157, however, Chief Minister has not taken any action against the erring officers and the bureaucrats responsible for the accidents.
Shiv Sena president Ashok Gupta alleged that enough corruption is going on but the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has failed to initiate punitive action date against the transport department officers for their laxity.
Ashok Gupta demanded registration of a FIR against the ARTO Doda., SSP Traffic National highway and the driver of the matador, so that no body can overload a bus or matador in future.
